Coil Paint Marking System

Posted on Tuesday April 19, 2005 in

Coil paint marker A Coil Marker is designed to mark a coil before supply or during the production to identify the product with a combination of numbers and letters in cold or hot condition.

The typical temperature for marking steel coils is between 700°C and 900°C, while aluminium coils are marked at temperatures from 100°C to 300°C. The paint for aluminium coils has to survive an annealing process after marking.

Marking is done applying two differing common technologies:

  • Dot Matrix Marking with a set of seven or nine nozzles.
  • Marking with one nozzle, similar to writing with a pen.

The machine equipment is either an arrangement of cross slides allowing for all necessary movements, or the marking head is operated by a robot.

Encouraged by their significant amount of development and research, Lenzing Technik boasts a reliability of up to 99.8 per cent.
